2013. Contains 135 discrete volumes of the Irish Nobel Laureate's primary works of poetry and essays. These titles are represented in their first editions and subsequent issues (English and/or American), as well as some proofs and other variants. In addition to the signed, limited editions, quite a number of the trade publications are signed or inscribed. The collection represents a nearly complete group of the primary works, as listed in the Brandes/Durkan bibliography, as well as all books published after 2003 -- the end date of the bibliography. The collection also contains eight broadsides, two Christmas cards, an autograph postcard, and many magazine appearances, including two very early pieces. A short title list is available upon request. All items are in fine condition.

This is a copy of the Lettered Issue of the first edition, thus one of only 26 copies printed on Zerkall Litho (a 210gram, exceptionally fine mouldmade paper, watermarked and with deckled edges) for presentation as a loose-leaf book of ten signatures. The book is wrapped in a coloured paper cover with a letterpress printed label and then presented in a handmade black cloth-covered clamshell box. Traditionally, such loose-leaf formats are especially attractive to printing-arts enthusiasts and to collectors who prefer to rebind their books in a bespoke style to suit a particular library or collection. The First Edition of FINN'S HOTEL by James Joyce. Edited, arranged and with a preface by Danis Rose, introduced by Seamus Deane, with eleven illustrations by Casey Sorrow. Designed and printed letterpress by Michael Caine for Ithys Press, Dublin. The Preface and Joyce's text have been handset by Caine in Van Dijk, Kis-Janson and various early 20th Century typefaces and the Introduction has been set by…

One of only 10 copies printed on Zerkall Litho for presentation in Artist's Bindings. Designed by the Spanish artist Antonio Veléz Celemín exclusively for the first edition, these copies are beautifully handbound in quarter cloth with exquisite hand marbling on both the book and the slipcase, joining two complementary patterns. To achieve this unique and specially commissioned design, the artist has combined Suminagashi (a Japanese technique dating back to 1055) using only black ink, and the classic western pattern of 'wavy thorns'. These are our 'top copies': they marry the finest in printing art with a rare fine-binding. The First Edition of FINN'S HOTEL by James Joyce. New York, Grove Press, 2022, trade paperback, 272 pp, Advance Uncorrected Proof (ARC), New. Straight, tight and clean with no wear or markings in bright, pictorial card covers, no dustjacket as issued. The pieces in this collection, written between 1956 and 1961 and including short fiction, a radio play, and a stunning early novel, offer startling insights into Cohens imagination and creative process. Cohen explores themes that would permeate his later work, from shame and unworthiness to sexual desire in all its sacred and profane dimensions to longing, whether for love, family, freedom, or transcendence.
