Book has been rebound by library, with expected inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing. Some occasional mild cracking to gutters throughout, binding is shaky. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Book has a slight forward lean. Gilt lettering is bright and clear.

Boards have mild shelf wear with light rubbing and corner bumping. Some light marking and sunning.

Mild tanning to spine, which has mild crushing to ends. Clipped jacket has light edgewear with tears and creasing. Minimal foxing present. Ring marks to front panel. Sticker to rear panel.

Vol 2 of two volumes the Macmillan Colonial Library edition of Scott's account of the expedition to Antarctica in the Discovery. 387 pages with 4 black and white photographs and a fold out Chart of Sledge Journeys from Winter Quarters. Book in good condition ex library and would have been much higher but for cover only held by a hinge front and back, sticker inside front cover, borrowing sleave remnants inside back cover, some foxing to margins first fifty pages, and light tanning. Cover has some wear around spine (see photos).
