1939. School/Library. FAIR. 1939 HCw/no jacket. Stated first edition.Dark red cloth boards have a 2""chip at lower spine, cloth is torn. Wear at spine ends, corners and some edgeear. No interior marks or writing. Binding is cracked on rear, though very intact.

Presumed first printing as no other dates for printing are shown. The book is in excellent condition with full signature, short inscription and date by author on the dedication page, following the title page. There is a light stain/discoloration on the cover and some bumping at the corners. Otherwise dover and pages are as new. Dj has issues. It seems to be clipped at each corner, although the price ($2.50) is shown. Many tears and chipping along edges of dj.
