In the original publisher's paper covered boards. Externally, smart, with rubbing and a little wear to the joints and extremities. Spine is a little faded. Cover worn, interior very slightly foxed at ends, but o/w tight. An essay on the decline of standards in what Graves considers an art form. Concludes with a robust defence of Joyce's "Ulysses" (''perhaps the least obscene book ever published'').
