More prominent to text block edges, pastedowns and free endpapers. Pencil inscription to front free endpaper. Light cracking to gutters and hinges; some looseness to binding but pages remain attached. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild chipping, tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Lettering remains bright and clear.

London: Griffin Bohn and Co. Undated (19th century? Previous owner has signed FEP with early-20th date.) Fair condition; hinges are broken, but page block is still attached. Emerald green cloth over beveled boards, gilt lettering and decoration, all edges gilt, just under 7" tall. Covers rubbed at the extremities, light fraying to spine head, hinges internally cracked but secure, text block sound but not tight, pages slightly age-yellowed but clean, name handwritten on preliminary blank.. Hard Cover. Fair. 12mo - over 6¾" - 7¾" tall.

Cracks to guttering throughout and to front hinge, with exposed netting. Heavy tanning to text block edges. Some rub-marking and tanning to pastedowns and endpapers. Boards have moderate shelf wear, with rubbing and marking. Heavy bumping to corners and crushing to spine ends, causing cloth to fray. Book has noticeable forward lean. Boards are slightly bowed with dents to edges. Cracking to rear joint.

London: Walker And Edwards, 1816. Hardcover. Fair/No Jacket. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. Once past the first few pages all is crisp, clean and bright. Title page is toned and a little stained with a small internal closed tear. Engraved title and frontispiece are heavily foxed. All edges of bloc marbled to match endpapers. Full leather with bright gilt decoration, worn to edges. Spine is heavily darkened with some loss. 32mo. 204pp

Williams, Samuel. lxviii, 271, 4 (ads.) pp. Ornamental titles to each volume - all as called for and numerous other charming steel engravings by Samuel Williams illustrate the text. 1841. Early edition. Original publishers' blue cloth - gilt embossed to the spine and blind stamped to each board. Yellow endpapers. No inscriptions. Some rubbing with slight loss of cloth to the head and tail of the spine and to several board corners. Nevertheless a very good, clean, tight well preserved copy.

Ex-library with small sticker on front cove, a couple of stamps throughout. Some tears and tatters to first couple endpapers along with writing in ink mentioning a Ladie's Library Society. Hinges barely cracked - binding integrity very good. 192 pages with index. Starts with some Critical Observations followed by the four seasons, then a Hymn and finally a chapter of The Season of Indolence.. 32mo - over 4 - 5" tall. Hardcover. Good/No Jacket.
