Bangor: Printed for the De Burians, 1901. "With his diary while a prisoner by the British at Boston in 1775 with the journal of John Leach who was a prisoner at the same time." Edes had an interesting career. "Peter Edes (December 17, 1756 March 30, 1840) was a colonial American patriot and printer and an advocate of American independence before and during the American Revolution, during which he was arrested for his show of support for the patriots. After the war, he moved his shop to Boston, then to Rhode Island, and again to the District of Maine, where he became the first printer to establish a printing house." The De Burians, who published this book, are also interesting. According to the home page of the Baxter Society, "The DeBurians are known to have published at least four (now quite scarce) books on such topics as Peter Edes, first Bangor printer, and Moses Greenleaf, the great Maine cartographer.
