Philadelphia, 1851; one quarter leather over brown cloth covered boards; covers soiled and rubbed; stain on rear board; ends of spine torn and chipped off; corners worn to boards; some edge wear; title label on front board toned and has some loss in the bottom left corner; "Ancient" spelled this way on title label, but spelled "Antient" on title page; owner signatures on front fly which is partially detached; name stamping and name written on title page; writing on rear paste down; end papers lightly foxed; Index and 21 maps; maps in good shape, slightly toned with some occasional soil smudges' map of Gallia has two small dark spots in center of map; 8vo, 7 3/4" to 9 3/4" tall.

London, Longmans Green & Co., New Edition 1866.. Small 4to. 24 handcoloured maps, with exhaustive index (or Gazetteer).Original half- morocco, extremities rubbed, worn and chipped, over textured cloth boards, the whole 'protected' with an adhesive clear film. The maps in very good state.

Lea & Blanchard. Used - Acceptable. Philadelphia: Blanchard and Lea, 1851. 8vo hardcover. 34pp index + maps. 21 beautifully hand-tinted maps. Fair book. Exlib. Shelfworn, with two small black stains to front board. Rebacked with blue bookbinding tape. Page edges moderately toned, and soiling to inside edges of boards. Front hinge cracked. A few small stains to interior, but generally clean. (maps, cartography, geography) Inquire if you need further information.

Philadelphia: Lea & Blanchard, 1844. Hardcover. Fair. Octavo. [10] pages, 20 colored, double page folding maps and 1 double page folded map of views, [32] page index, [1]. Brown cloth covered boards with leather backstrip and corners. Pasted down paper title label on the front board. Cloth is worn. Outer joints cracked. Leather spine and corners are chipped with missing sections. Rear hinge cracked with an apparent glue repair. Maps are in good condition with toning on the blank versos. Variant spelling for Ancient in the title. Ancient is spelled correctly on the front cover paper title label. Former owner of this book was C. P. Crawford of Milledgeville, Georgia. His label is located on the front paste down. Crawford was an officer in the Confederacy during the Civil War. He later practiced law in Milledgeville, Georgia. A different owner's faint ink signature on right front free end paper. Fair only.

Carey, Lea & Blanchard, 1831. First Thus. Leather Binding. Good. Complete with all 20 hand-colored double-page maps in very good condition, plus the 4 b/w maps at rear. A good copy in period quarter red straight-grained morocco over marbled boards, spine ruled in gilt, printed paper label on upper cover (although the maps are quite nice the text at front and rear has dampstaining, foxing, etc., some rubbing to binding).

Philadelphia: Carey, Lea and Blanchard, 1836. Octavo. 20 double paged maps hand colored in outline, 1 double paged sectional maps or plans in black and white, [32]pp. index. Bound in 3/4 morocco over marbled paper covered boards, paper label to upper board, rebacked and with renewed endpapers, title page and preliminaries have foxing and large damp stain to gutter but not penetrating to maps. Contemporary owner's name on rear free endpaper, front free endpaper with two owner's names in pencil. Maps clean without foxing but just a hint of off-setting.
