Spine is completely split, resulting in the book being in 2 parts. Lower outer corner bumped affecting all the pages. Half title and title page loose. Page edges browned, outer pages little soiled. Contents little fingered. A used copy. 22x14cms.

Bound in with the 2nd volume is: 'History Of London' (76pp). Cloth boards, leather spine. covers little scuffed and marked. Spines faded, leather little rubbed. Inner hinges beginning to split. Some foxing to contents, but mainly affecting tissue guards. Plates generally clean and bright. 19x13cms.

Scuffed and soiled dust jacket, lacking several portions and most of spine. Outer pages browned and little foxed. Edges of pages browned, a few slightly (4cmsx2mms) affected by damp and a few page edges little soiled/marked. Name on front free end paper. 25x19cms.

Decorative cloth boards, scuffed and bumped. Spine ends worn, top of spine split along front hinge (8cms). All edges gilt. Contents foxed, very heavy in places. Contemporary ownership name and date on front free end paper. 24x16cms.

Pavilion Books, London, 1994. Pages unnumbered. 2 page introduction by Terry Jones followed by the detailed diary of fairy sightings with colour illustrations by Brian Froud. This copy has the intact seal and the die-cut fairy. Simulated leather binding, corners slightly scuffed. A nice copy. 31x24cms.

Inner front hinge beginning to split. A nice copy. 20x15cms.

Methuen, 1928 (1st edition). vi + 92pp. With b/w illus by Ernest H. Shepard. A rhyme and illustration for each county, printed on one side of the page only. Boards, cloth spine. Corners and top and bottom of spine little bumped. Lower edge little rubbed. Faded and torn dust jacket, lacking small pieces from spine. A nice copy. 31x25cms.

William Mackenzie, London, n.d. (c.1870). 3 volumes complete. Pagination irregular as it includes 'all those pecularities of paging, spelling, and punctuation' of the original 'First Folio'. Illustrated with 20 photographic engravings from drawings by Sir J. Noel Paton, 2 portraits of Shakespeare, 1 photo illus of Holy Trinity Church, Stratford on Avon and another of Shakespeare's tomb in 'Stratford Church'. The engravings are India-proof impressions. Bound in the publisher's full dark green morocco with raised bands and gilt titles and decorations on the spines. The covers are decorated in gilt and have deeply inset oval central panels with gilt titles and heraldic emblems. Covers are scuffed (mainly to extremities), with some loss of surface leather (causing small scarring to the gilt date of a decorative device on one volume), but still look very impressive. High House Press, Shaftesbury, 1932. No pagination. With 12 wood engravings by Biggs and Masters. This edition on hand-made paper is limited to 60 numbered copies signed by the artists. Cloth boards, corners little bumped, spine little rubbed. End papers beginning to brown, a few scattered fox marks (but not on wood engravings). A nice clean copy. 24x15cms.

MacDonald. Text pages and margins of engravings fingered and little soiled. The engravings are on india paper and are clean. Cloth boards, scuffed, bumped, marked and frayed. 44x30cms.
