A Near Fine book with a spot of rubbing to the spine; dust jacket is Very Good with hints of rubbing and a few minor dampstains to the rear panel and the reverse.

Thomson was one of the most significant and well-regarded moral philosophers of the 20th century. In this book, she explores the question of what an act is and examines the more general notion of an event. A very attractive copy of Thomson's first monograph. Very near Fine book with a few faint flecks of foxing to the textblock in a Near Fine dust jacket with some mild toning to the spine panel.

It appears that this edition was issued with several blank leaves on which the student using the book could take notes. Our copy has copious manuscript notes from the late 1830's on these pages.
