Autograph letter, signed Dufferin & Ava", dated 18 Decr [18]88, to William Murray Esq. at Athol Bank in Hamilton. 12mo. pp. 2 with integral blank. (horizontal fold). This letter was written just after Dufferin term as Viceroy of India. It was written on board ship in the middle of the Indian Ocean on his way home. Dufferin thanks Murray for kindly celebrating in verse which he claims to be; "really good and musical". Dufferin also says he is including a copy of a speech he had given in India but it is not present.. Signed by Author(s).
