This is the author's first collection of poems. Signed and dated (10th June 1989) by the author on title page. No dustwrapper, minor wear to spine ends and to a lesser extent the corners of blue boards, some foxing to outer pages,otherwise a good clean tight copy, with gilt titles on spine still bright, of this slim hard-cover book. A collection of translations by the author of poems originally written in other languages. Includes French poems done in Scots, English poems by Oliver Wendell Holmes done into German, and verses from Omar Khayyam translated into Welsh Romany. Cambridge, Massachusetts: The Riverside Press, 1957. Opaque glassine dustwrapper (a bit like grease-proof paper) is torn down the spine and has small tears and creasing to the edges. Otherwise a good clean tight copy, with no bumping to ends of black cloth spine strip nor to the gilt and white paper-covered boards, and with gilt titles on spine still bright. A posthumous collection of poems by the author (1924-56) including poems from her three previous collections, as well as some which were previously unpublished, along with an introduction by John Holmes. Includes a Christmas card and an smaller card from the author's parents (Sheldon and Eleanor Glueck, who were criminologists specialising in Juvenile Delinquency) and a leaflet signed by Eleanor re a Joyce Glueck Poetry Prize competition for 1959. . Originally published in hardback in 2006, an adaptation by the author of Homer's "Odyssey", told in a seried of dialogues between the various characters. 266pp.. Paperback. Brown paper dustwrapper is present, but in poor shape: torn in two at the spine,creasing and tears to the edges, and the folds of inner flaps starting to give way as well. Some wear to ends of gray cloth spine strip and to corners of gray paper-covered boards, mark on half-title where original owner's gift message (?) has been erased, a loose note dated 1944 from the original purchaser of the book who gifted it to an old lady in 1914, the book coming back to him later and being gifted to a niece. Otherwise a good clean tight copy of this large-format (12" by 10") hard-cover book. Contains ten full-page b&w drawings, each one mounted on purple card with tissue overlay, illustrating Francis Thompson's poem "The Hound of Heaven" by one Frideswith Huddart.
