Some rubbing to the corners and spine ends, very minor (6mm) chip to rear cover, small wrinkle in spine cloth below the author's name (most likely occurred during binding), good hinges, sound text block, minor edgewear to front free endpaper and preliminary blank, name of Thomas McKennan [or Thomas M Kennan] at top of title page and on endpapers, pages very clean and unmarked, no discernible foxing. Covers rubbed and scuffed, some roughness to the volume II spine head, joints secure, text blocks sound, pages clean with only a few instances of very minor foxing, armorial bookplate of Charles A. Woolley (by De Gruchy & Leigh) inside each front cover with evidence that an additional bookplate was placed over it but removed (residue above the Woolley bookplates), no other markings.
