He has authored several books and articles on armory and the history of Portugal.

Beverley Nichols (1898–1983) was a prolific writer, playwright, pianist, songwriter, actor, mystery writer, gardening expert, sparkling wit, bon vivant, cat champion and, a noted children's author writer. For decades he was inescapable on the British literary and social scene. He knew and was lauded by many of the leading lights of his day Osbert Sitwell described Beverley Nichols as the original "bright young thing."

Light foxing marks to preliminaries with a few pin prick size foxing marks outside of text block. Pages remain clean, bright without tears or folds. Light rubbing and wear to boards and edges. Minstrelsy marked Scott's true literary debut, written and published as a collection of the traditional ballads that Scott had been collecting in yearly trips to the Borders since 1792.

Front hinge partially cracked not affecting spine or remaining pages which remain firmly attached; binding is tight. Light ruffling to fore edge of preliminary pages, otherwise pages in fine condition without marks or tears. This little treasure is in overall lovely condition, particularly given its age.

A collection of Fischer's games dating from the 1957 New Jersey Open to the 1967 Sousse Interzonal. My 60 Memorable Games includes nine draws and three losses. It has been described as a "classic of objective and painstaking analysis"and is regarded as one of the great pieces of chess literature.

Errata slip tipped in at p. 113. Size 9¼" x 5½" 164 pages. Quarter ivory over beige cloth boards; gilt spine titles. Vignette illustrations after copperplates originally printed in 1714. Boards have light bumping and stains. Pages have stain top edge which progressively fades and ends about half way through the book; no other marks and without tears or folds. Hinge is cracked at page 129 although all pages remain firmly attached. A translation of Daphnis and Chloe by the 2nd century AD Greek novelist Longus.

Patchwork Nichols, Beverley. Published by Chatto & Windus, London, 1921. First Edition; no other printings listed. Green cloth boards, gilt spine titles. Spine is faded, boards have patchy fading and some surface wrinkling (see pictures). Binding is secure. Light toning and penciled owner's name and date (1921) free endpaper. 2 tiny smudge marks outside of text block on separate pages; otherwise pages are clean and without folds or tears. Patchwork is Nichols' second book, very rare in this edition. The book received high critical acclaim: "a novel which at once takes a distinguished place in the gallery of University fiction".
