This small dictionary covers terms, people and gods from more than just the Greek and Roman mythology, with Egyptian, Scandinavian and "Hindoo" mythology as well. (The Greek and Roman mythological figures seem to have more complete descritions than the rest.) The fabric front cover is embossed with decoration in black and gilt. More black print on the spine. There is wear at all four corners and at the head and tail of the spine. The stitched binding seems tight and the pages are clean and unmarked, with a very tiny amount of edge damage on pages 57-60. Decorative endpapers with the owner's name on the front endpaper. There are many reprints, facsimilies and PODs out there of this book, but this is the real deal, well over 100 years old. It is also exceedingly rare.

A dictionary that has been used. For the French learner of English, but should work the other way, too. Although there are no spine creases, there are plenty of creases on the front and back covers. Front cover also has a stain on the upper edge, which extends to the first 40 or so pages as a slight area of wrinkles, but without the stain. HAs no impact on the use of this book. 1055 pages.

Trade paperback. In near new condition. Owner's name embossed on the title page. Insignificant wear. A style manual for writers of research, based on the Chicago Manual of Style. A bit outdated, but useful nonetheless..

An alphabetical list of who married who, from one county in Maryland, in the late 18th to early 19th century. No wear, no plot.

A good example of a tradesman's reference book from the turn of the 20th century. Good examples of the mathematics needed in engineering.

A very attractive boxed set of Miriam-Webster's Collegiate Dictionary and Collegiate Thesaurus. ISBN for the Thesaurus is 0-87779-170-8. Owner's name inside front cover on a sticker stating the award she was given in the form of these books. Thumb tabs on both books. Page ends speckled, books bound in leather-like deep red. (Photos #3 and 4 do not give the true color, an artifact of the camera built into my Kindle.) There is very little wear to the box or the books. On the covers of the books there are a few very small, white marks from some unknown source (see photo #8 for a close-up view). Otherwise, the books are undamaged and look unused. CD that accompanies this dictionary is still sealed in its pouch. The set weighs over seven pounds. Excess shipping costs are included in the list price.

A reference book from many decades ago. It is a thick book, and as such, the cover is tearing away at the spine. This book does not actually have 1,000 books, just brief synopses. The author/compiler was the Librarian at the University of Pennsylvania. Copyright in 1924, this one is dated 1925 on the title page, so may be a second printing. Pages are clean, tight and bright. A rare book, almost 100 years old but not looking it.

A tall, thin book of charts and tables of social and economic numbers from around the world. Very little wear. Some examples of the data included: health spending of Malaysia as a percent of GDP, 4%; world's highest death rate, 2015-20: Bulgaria, 15.3 per 1,000, lowest Qatar, 1.6; 88.4% of the population of the UAE is foreign born. Fascinating, huh? 255 pages of this kind of stuff.

This is a facsimile reprint of the original issue, published in Moscow in 1960. Rather rare.

Large, very complete guide to the writing style expected for biological peer-reviewed journals. Clean, intact, very little wear. This book will ship at over three pounds.
