On street protests and blockade actions in San Francisco, Berkeley, and elsewhere to oppose nuclear power and weapons. Largely devoted to the Livermore Labs but with material on the Diablo Canyon power plant, Native American issues and other topics.

New York: United Nations, 1982. unpaginated, softcover, pictorial album of an anti-nuclear exhibit at the UN sponsored by Japan. 8.5 x 11 inches, very good condition. Illustrations of post-atomic Hiroshima and other tragedies in black and white, followed by a section of color images showing the joy of a post-disarmament world.

[Japan]: Doro-Chiba, 2012. Pamphlet. iii, 3p., wraps, 8.5x11.75 inches, very good. On a strike by Japanese railway workers resisting calls to return to work in areas affected by Fukushima radiation. Also included is a flier in Japanese for a major anti-nuclear action in Hiroshima planned for August 2012, and a pinback button issued in the name of the children of Fukushima that says "A future, please" in Japanese.

Oakland: East Bay New American Movement, 1979. Staplebound. 6p., mimeo'd on slightly acidic standard leaves and corner-stapled, irregular toning, a touch of dust, this a good copy: sound (if slightly edgeworn), otherwise clean, and unmarked.

New York: Socialist Labor Party, 1962. Pamphlet. Four panel brochure, 6x9 inches, evenly browned, lightly edgeworn, 0.25 inch closed tear on rear wrap, "1960, 1962" in red pencil and a rubberstamp reading "Free lecture, Hotel Lafayette, Sun 3 pm, April 15" on rear wrap; April 15 1962 was a Sunday.

E. Setauket, NY: Nuclear Freeze Campaign, 1982. Newspaper. 16p., tabloid format newspaper, front cover with a takeoff on Edvard Munch's "The Scream." political cartoons, illus., slight wear along open edges, slight toning, otherwise in very good condition. Appears to have been the only issue published. Updates on anti-nuclear activism; centerfold is a poster in colors for an October 13 moratorium (depicts a "nuke-lear" family album).

Philadelphia: Movement for a New Society, 1980. 8p., tabloid newspaper format, horizontal fold, evenly toned. The MNS was a pacifist revolutionary group, with direct-action campaigns against nuclear power, consensus-based decision-making, and related training for activists.

[Northern California], [199-]. Three-dimensional papier maché sculpture, 16 inches tall, mounted on a wooden pole, cardboard sign attached to the wooden handle with tape on the back, carried in protests against research at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in the 1990s. Minor restoration could be beneficial at the junction of the umbilical cord and the belly. Shipping will be charged according to actual cost; this is a light but bulky item.

Northampton, MA: the newsletter, 1987. Twenty-one issues of the 8.5x11 inch newsletter, address labels on rear covers, otherwise generally very good. Issues present are vol. 1 nos. 1-8 (no. 6 misnumbered 5); vol. 2 nos. 2-6; vol. 3 nos. 1-6; and vol. 4 nos. 1 and 2. "Interhelp is a nonpartisan network whose purpose is to provide people with the opportunity to experience and share their deepest responses to the dangers which threaten our planet - be they dangers of nuclear holocaust, environmental deterioration, or human oppression..." Updates on activism in these and other arenas.

Palo Alto, CA: Socialist Labor Party, 1979. Handbill. Single sheet, printed both sides, 6.5x10 inches, date penciled on front wrap, else very good condition. Statement against nuclear weapons.

New York: Humanity Guild, Inc, 1962. 23p., stapled wraps, 4x8.75 inches, bottom corner of front wrap dog eared else very good condition; cover depicts tanks facing off with nuclear blast in background. Several cartoon illustrations, most depicting gory aftermath of nuclear attack. Anti-nuclear pamphlet describing dangers of atomic weapons, scenarios for accidental launch, impossibility of escape, etc. Kriegel founded the Humanity Guild in 1939.

Cambridge, England: Polyhedron Printers, 1968. Pamphlet. ii-vi, [1], 25, [1]p., wraps. 8 x 5 in. Inscribed on dedication page to "Catherine H. Bell / From / 'Down Under.'" Slight edge wear; small stains and indentations on front cover. Good. Satirical poems targeting the nuclear arms race. Titles include "Evil Genius of the Nuclear Age," "Nuclear Nightmare," "Marching Song for Peace" (set to a Gilbert and Sullivan tune from Pirates of Penzance), "Thoughts of an American Girl Who Fell in Love With a Russian," and others. The author addresses biological weapons in a brief preface. WorldCat reports only one location in the United States.

Honolulu: Pacific Concerns Resource Center, 1982. Pamphlet. pp. 23-27, 8.5x11 inch pamphlet reprinting an article from Pacific Magazine; minor foxing. On disputes in the Marshall Islands, where local inhabitants protested military testing.

Rome: Lega per l'energia alternativa e la otte antinucleare, [198-]. Poster. 19x27 inch poster, very good, announcing an anti-nucler bicycle rally. Possibly related to the 1987 anti-nuclear referendum in Italy, held in the wake of the Chernobyl disaster, which led to the country shutting down its nuclear power plants.

Mountain View, CA: Mid-Peninsula Conversion Project, 1979. An 8.5x11 inch fundraising letter, with introductory 6-panel brochure stapled to it, together with an invitation to a third annual benefit dinner, and an 8.5x14 inch leaflet about the B-1 / GE Peace Conversion Campaign. The organization sought to convert military industries to peacetime uses.

New York: Mobilization for Survival, 1986. 21p., wraps, 8.25 x 11 inches, evenly toned else very good condition on newsprint. Anti-nuclear, anti-war newspaper.

San Francisco: the Mobilization, 1988. 16x5.5 inch armband printed on nylon-type fabric; together with a blank sign-up sheet for volunteer monitors.
