With works by Zhang Daqian, Pu Ru, Qi Baishi, and Wu Guanzhong. Minor handling, very minor bumps to tips, otherwise a clean, very sound copy.

The official exhibition book of the same name held at the Victoria & Albert Museum. With armorial, European subject and C17th lots, as well as Chinese Imari style pieces, Pronk pieces, famille rose, including animal and bird pieces, such as a Qianlong pheasant, pugs, tureens etc. One of the greatest private collections of Chinese ceramics ever assembled, and at one stage estimated to be the largest, this Part II catalogue now scarce. Sale raised $3.1m.

San Francisco: Chinese Art Appraisers Association, 1978. First Edition. Original Cloth. Fine/very good. 8vo (25.5cm). Copy No. 504 of 840 copies issued. Black cloth, Chinese gilt blocked characters to upper board, gilt titles to spine. pp. 120. w/ 65 b&w photographic plates, many in close up. 3 page bibliography to rear, followed by index with Chinese calligraphy details. In unclipped dust jacket, with minor rubs to folds, edges.

New York: Sotheby's , 1985. First Edition. Original Cloth. Near fine/near fine. 4to (28cm). In the illustrated laminated dust jacket, with a trifle of edgewear. Dark blue cloth, gilt lettered titles to spine, cover. Yellow silk ribbon marker. Unpaginated. 79 lots, each lot illustrated with, mostly, full page colour photographs. One fold out colour plate. Lots include a fine and very rare pair of reticulated famille rose and celadon double gourd vases, a rare lavender-glazed 'hundred rib' jar, Kangxi, and a large Ming blue and white wine jar and cover. Limited signs of use, a very sharp, sound copy.

London: Bonhams, 2006. Printed Card Wraps. Very good. 4to (26.5cm). pp. 216. 417 Lots. From Islamic manuscripts, to pottery, glass, Iznik pottery, Indian miniatures, etc. Excellent illustrations, a substantial resource. No flaws to note, light use only.

Hong Kong: Leisure and Cultural Services Department & Hong Kong Museum of Art, 2014. First Edition. Pictorial Boards. Fine. Fold out 4to (29 x 23.5cm). A cleverly constructed fold out exhibition catalogue, which measures 29.5 x 47.5cm when fully extended, to reveal a centrepiece of three prisoners behind bars. Issued for the exhibition in the same year held in Hong Kong, a major retrospective of the artist's works. In two separate volumes: pp. 72 & 144. Profusely illustrated with colour plates. Text in English and Chinese. Bar the tiniest of bumps to a couple of the lower tips, all but as new. A now hard to obtain catalogue from this well received exhibition.

Orange endpapers. In acetate dust jacket, in the pictorial stapled thick card slipcase. 4to. pp. 114. 50 colour plates, extensive notes. Text in English and Chinese. Slipcase quite bumped to tips, book bumped to head of spine, previous owner's name to flyleaf. Otherwise a bright, firm, clean copy.

Text in English and Chinese. pp. 142. With 155 plates, chiefly b&w, some in colour. A clean, sound copy, in a dust jacket with a couple of small closed tears, repaired to back with archival tape. An excellent resource on the subject.

Almost 10 years in the making it is the only reference work in any language to deal so exhaustively with the entire range of these very diverse marks. Catalogue for the sale of the contents of Melplash Court, focused on Asian art, ceramics, Chinese jade, Chinese costume and textiles, ivory, bronzes and sculpture, Japanese wood and lacquer, and Thai, Chinese, Indo-Persian and Japanese paintings and drawings. The sale raised £4million, marking it as one of the largest ever by value 'on-the-premises' auctions held in the UK and by far the largest such sale of Asian works. With the separate Addendum, in stiff card wraps, noting errata and additional lots.
