Softcover magazine/journal with dust jacket, showing moderate edgewear and aging, but is internally clean and clear. The binding is cracked away from the textblock in the front, with the first page being partially unattached, but the textblock is still attached to cover at the rear, otherwise Very Good.
The artwork mentioned on the dust jacket flap is included as a separate plate in Near Fine condition, and there is also a pamphlet (NF) which apparently held a souvenir handkerchief at one point.

First Edition. 284 p. ; includes Bibliography and Index (p. 275-284). Blue-green hardcover with gilt lettering to cover and spine, has very minor shelfwear and some bumping to tip and heel of spine, in price-clipped dust jacket which exhibits some edgewear, sunning, and minor soiling (mainly to rear cover) and is housed in an adjustable plastic sleeve. Internally, the book is Near Fine with deckled edge and illustrated endpapers. The colour dust jacket is by famous illustrator Paul Galdone (1907-1987). Though mostly noted for children's picture books, this early illustration (which appears to have gone unnoticed) depicts the lusty, rough-and-tumble, whisky-soaked life of northern goldminers. From the dust jacket: Gold mining with a pick and shovel is hard work. In the Far North it also entails being out in all weathers, risk of frostbite, solitude [...] What might have been a sordid and ugly account of predatory villainy becomes in his hands a tragicomedy of the last time America blew off steam.

RARE. Approx. 36 p.; ill. (some spraypaint colour to covers). Ex-library with stamp (the now-defunct Junto Local 91 Radical Library of Winnipeg), mild shelf/edgewear, and staples have been removed, but text appears complete and is otherwise in Very Good+ to Near Fine condition. An Arkansas punk rock zine dealing with poverty, alternative lifestyles, conscious living, community, history, and social commentary. It is a liberally illustrated little booklet packed full of musings, information, humour, ideology, stories, poetry, and advice.

(Voir en bas pour la traduction en français.) RARE COLLECTION. L'Ami du clergé was a French-language weekly review published Langres from 1878 to 1969, with an interruption in 1940-1946 due to WWII. It was concerned with the education of members of the Catholic clergy and sought to promote Social Catholicism, without the use of polemics. A set of 33 volumes of bound periodicals, being volumes 30-40 and 52-72, including a duplicate of 52, and containing issues of L'Ami du clergé dated 1908-1923 and 1935-1962 (with a gap from 1940-46 due to the war). The set is also being sold with a few ephemera items found between the pages of various volumes.Ex-library, coming from the National Library in the Archdiocese of Saint-Boniface, Manitoba, Canada, these volumes contain the usual markings (stamps, etc.) and have been bound differently during certain time spans. RARE. Approx. 40 p. (unnumbered); ill. Ex-library (the now-defunct Junto Local 91 Radical Library of Winnipeg) with stamp and sticker, extremely mild shelfwear, otherwise Fine. An incredibly well put together zine, with high-quality amateur artwork and text which is mostly done by hand in a beautiful and amazingly regular all-caps. Contains such content as card tricks, comics, photography, history, recipes, and reviews. Includes topics such as skating, veganism, movies, coffee, W. C. Fields, and travel.

Softcover staple-bound with moderate wear to spine and edges, including small tears and worn areas, some page-curl, etc. Profusely illustrated with colour and black-and-white pictures, the interior bears only a few minor library markings and a taped bookplate stating that it was given by the French Consulate in Winnipeg, 1967, to Monseigneur Maurice Beaudeaux (1902-1988).

Besides owning an extensive library, Beaudeaux was an Officer of the Order of Canada and archbishop of Saint Boniface, Manitoba, Canada. He was awarded the honour of the OC for his work in the western provinces on behalf of French Canada.
