No dust jacket. Possibly a first edition, but that is not stated. The blue-grey fabric covering the boards shows little wear other than some soil and discoloration on the spine. The deckle-edged pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Previous owner's bookplate inside the front cover. Fairly scarce.

No dust jacket. I would say the book looks like it has hardly been read, but there are some areas of highlighting (by someone without a proper highlighter) early on in the book. These quit by page 73 out of 464, and then there are two more places, noted on the last page, following acknowledgements, where someone else underlined with ball point, forgoing even the pretense of highlighting. These marks are on pages 120 (small) and 175 (much more substantial). None of these scholarly(?) notations detract much from the reading itself. Pages are deckle-edged and tightly bound, and clean with the excepting of the above-mentioned markings of mysterious origin. I haven't read this one (yet) and it has been a long time since I read Catch-22, but I think there are some of the same characters within. I do know it is the same Heller satire that I have enjoyed before.

Trade paperback. Little wear, with two exceptions. There is a small tear to the front cover, lower right corner, and a dark stain on the page ends opposite the spine. Both can be seen in photo #3. Spine does have one crease. A story about growing old on one's own terms, with resistance. Washington Post says, "...refreshingly frank about the tragic comedy of aging."

Book shows little wear, other than a binding split after the title page (not an unusual occurence in books of this age). No corresponding split in the rear. Light blue textured covers with dark blue stamped print on the front and spine. Decorative endpapers with the owner's name on the front endpaper. The dust jacket shows wear at the corners and edges and a scattering of tears of 1 cm or less. Color frontispiece. The only date in the book is the original copyright. Grosset and Dunlap are not known for publishing first editions and did not like giving the actual date of publication. This volume is probably from the 1940s or 50s. This is one of a number of Stratton-Porter books I have recently acquired. All will soon be listed online. This one is fairly rare.

Little wear, just some shallow spine creases and a little wear at the corners. Pages are all clean and tight. A tale of a matriarch, her on-again-off-again husband, and their four adult children, each with their own sets of crises.

Some minor wear. The lower right front corner is creased and the spine has a few shallow creases. There is a tiny stain at the lower corner page ends, impacting about 40 pages, but coming nowhere near the text. Outside of that, the pages are clean, tight and intact. A Dean at the University of Chicago travels with his wife behind the Iron Curtain where is mother-in-law is dying. While tolerating the Romanian winter, the Dean considers the political realities of both east and west.

Some minor wear. A crease on the front cover paralleling the spine, a little writing on the back cover. Pages clean and tight, but a bit yellowed with age. First published in 1957, this is Agee's last novel.

Compact volume with deep red cloth cover. Some wear, especially at the ends of the spine. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Original owner's name inside front cover. No publishing date listed, internet research suggests this volume is from the early 1920s. Originally published in 1840.

Covers show little wear, spine is square and pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Page edges are dyed red all around. The spine does have a strip of tape running the length, in an effort to keep the spine together. It didn't fully work. When I received the book, a group of pages were loose and the spine was trying to peel off. With careful use of book glue, I have restored this as well as I could, so all the pages are nice and tight, and the spine is no longer trying to get away. Repaired or not, this is a rather rare book.

The deckle-edged pages are clean and tight, with yellow dyed top edges. Pages are a bit yellowed. Owner's bookplate sticker inside the front cover. The author published over 50 novels over a 40-year career, between 1930 and 1970. This is one of Keyes' better known novels. A scarce book.

Very little wear to the book. The dust jacket also shows little wear, but has residue from a bookstore sticker on the front top right and remains of another, very stubborn price sticker on the front lower right. Pages are clean, tight and bright. Set in South Africa.

First edition. Book shows very little wear. Dust jacket has one tear (3 cm) at the upper right front corner, which has been repaired with a piece of yellow tape. Little wear otherwise. A millionaire Doctor hosts lavish parties so that he can see how far he can push his wealthy guests.
