Very little wear. Signed by the author. A history and examination of a small town in England on the occasion of the author's visit to her hometown on the 40th anniversary of the end of WWII.

Letters, treatises, essays, short stories, excerpts, etc., by many dozens of authors. Excess shipping costs are included in the list price.

Old Sarum is the ruins of a fortified post-Roman English settlement from the Iron Age. Little wear.

C. to 1902 A. D., its year of publication. No maps or illustrations. Owner's name inside front cover and on title page. Appears to be a rare book.

The book shows little wear to the cover. Red cloth covered boards with gilt print on the spine. Some of the pages of this book would have been joined at the lateral edge, as some of the index pages still are. The original owner would have had to cut or tear along the crease to read it, and, in a few cases, the tearing was not carefully done. No text has been lost but some of the edges are a bit uneven. Otherwise, the pages are clean and tight. The dust jacket shows some wear along the upper and lower edges, but is now encased in mylar, so no further damage has been done. This is not a former library book and has no interior markings. A very rare book.

Cover shows wear at the corners and edges, and the fabric over the spine is torn halfway up from the bottom along the back edge and part way across. Pages are clean, tight and not particularly yellowed. Some illustrations. Original owner's name and more recent owner's name both inside front cover. The original owner was a Miss Gertrude Pritchard, an English schoolteacher from the early part of the 20th century. I acquired a number of her books at a recent estate sale in Seattle and have gathered all of them in the "Pritchard Library" catalogue.

Red cloth cover, worn through at the lower corners. 95 illustrations. Pages are clean, tight and unmarked. This book is listed with others in my "Pritchard Library" catalogue. All are from the first two decades of the 20th century and were once the property of one Gertrude Pritchard, apparently a schoolteacher in England. Over the intervening 100 years, they made their way to West Seattle where I recently acquired them at an estate sale.

Wear is minor. Red cloth covered boards with gilt print on the spine. No dust jacket. Some minor soiling to the front cover and slight fading to the spine, little shelf-wear. Pages are clean and tight. As you can see from the photographs, this book begins with a biography of the author's relatively short life (1728-1774). Following the novel are two of Goldsmith's poems. The Vicar of Wakefield was first published in 1766, The Traveller in 1765 and The Deserted Village in 1770. This is a rather rare book.

The copyright is 1965, but this is a far newer printing. They just decided not to tell us how much newer. The book shows no significant wear. The dust jacket has a bit of shelf-wear along the lower edge and a little crimping on the top edge at the spine and rear corner. The pages are clean, tight and unmarked. Contains many black and white photographs. This book will ship at over two pounds. Excess shipping costs are included in the list price.

Pages are clean, tight and intact, with illustrations scattered throughout. A few marks on the front endpaper. Within is a humorous accounting of the author's brief time living in England. Ninth printing, 315th to 340th thousand. Eventually this book would sell over 600,000 copies.
