A parody of William Somerset Maugham's Cakes & Ales first published in the US as Gin & Bitters under the pseudonym of A Riposte, she went on and had it published in the UK as Full Circle, however it was withdrawn shortly afterwards by her publisher as Mugham had taken legal action for libel against them. In addition to Mordaunt & Clowes she also wrote under the name of Mrs Wiehe, Mrs Bowley, Jack Heron & A Riposte. (Stutt F30. Alec Waugh - My Brother Evelyn & Other Profiles.
