The first 1 pages of the trip follows his journey across the United States from their arrival in New York in snow working their way west to Buffalo, Toledo to Chic across the country to the Rocky Mountains eventually down to the desserts at Ogden to Death Valley. Th Sewell Company developed Dural, a pyroxylin lacquer for painting automobiles this was their salesman's sample book of the colors they offered. Each of th 40 brightly colored samples is marked on the back with the paint number and color, and the two leaves in the back give additional Dural products and accessories they sell. Front cover embossed with image of auto, name of pain and manufacturer. 40407.

Loosely inserted: reprinted story "'Cartercar Makes Long Trip' from Pacific Motoring, Nov. 2, 1907," concerning A.A. Davis's trip from Los Angeles, North, up beyond Sacramento, into mining country, and through some snow. The pamphlet is wrou from rather soft-pitched selling, in the form of a consumer's guide to buying car, the Cartercar making only a small impression. Includes three halftone plates, with four illustrations. Slight tear to outer edge, else very good.

Scarce automobile travel brochu detailing with photograph illustrations and map the iconic Crystal Park Auto Road with its twists, turns, switchbacks, and steep grades, now site of the present-day 2000 acre grated mountain community above Manitou Springs, Co. Although the Pikes Peak was visible for almost everywhere, there was no view where the autos could stop for drivers and passengers to alight and take photographs, so the company built a turntable which allowed the auto to drive out on the piece, be rotated, and then finished drive on.
