Life was an American magazine published weekly from 1883 to 1972, as an intermittent "special" until 1978, and as a monthly from 1978 until 2000. This issue of Life (Vol. 65, No. 25, December 20, 1968) contains the unpublished and unfinished manuscript by Mark Twain titled Huck Finn & Tom Sawyer Among the Indians. The issue features a picture of Mark Twain at age 55, painted by Charles N. Flagg, on the front cover, 16 pages devoted to the text of the unfinished novel, and a one-page article titled The reasons Mark Twain did not finish his story. Articles on other subjects are also present.
This issue of Life, which measures approximately 10.5 x 14 inches, has a total of 76 pages of text, illustrations, and advertisements. The table of Contents, on page 1, lists all of the articles contained in the issue. With the exception of the remains of the subscriber's mailing label on the front cover, the magazine is in very good condition.

Annelies Marie Frank (12 June 1929 – c. February or March 1945) was a German-born Jewish girl who kept a diary in which she documented life in hiding under Nazi persecution during the German occupation of the Netherlands. She is a celebrated diarist who described everyday life from her family's hiding place in an Amsterdam attic. One of the most-discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust, she gained fame posthumously with the 1947 publication of The Diary of a Young Girl in which she documents her life in hiding from 1942 to 1944 — it is one of the world's best-known books and has been the basis for several plays and films. Mise-en-Scene No. 1 - American Film Issue was published by the Case Western Reserve University Film Society in Cleveland, Ohio. Its date of publication is not stated in the document, but is believed to be about 1970. Its purpose was "...to clarify relationships, establish appropriate contexts, and, in short, to suggest some of the attitudes and techniques that film directors have used in communicating their themes...".
The magazine contains 72 pages of illustrated articles dealing with the American film industry and the works of such directors as Alfred Hitchcock, Ernst Lubitsch, Fritz Lang, John Ford, Nathaniel West, Arthur Penn, and John Huston. This 1st Issue, which measures approximately 8 ½ x 11 inches, contains 68 pages, including the paper covers. In order to commemorative the first appearance of Superman in the June, 1938 issue of Action Comics, the United States Postal Service issued a commemorative 32 cent Superman postage stamp on September 10, 1998. Associated with the stamp's first day issuance, the USPS published a Special Limited Edition of Action Comics #1 and released it in Cleveland, Ohio, the home of Superman's creators, Jerome Siegel and Joe Shuster.
This special edition of Action Comics #1 is enclosed in a USPS wrapper that covers half the front cover and the whole back cover. On the front half-cover is pasted one of the newly-issued 32 cent Superman stamps (above the words First Day of Issue). The back cover has some text that warns the reader that since this special edition is an exact reprint of the June 1938 original publication, any advertisements shown have long expired.

This copy of The United States Weekly Telegraph, Washington, February 22, 1832, Vol. V, No.13 by Duff Green was one issue of a newsweekly that tried to give its readership a good taste of what was newsworthy and important. This issue contains 32 two-column pages, without covers, that measure approximately 5 3/8 x 8 ¾ inches. The pages are numbered from 385 to 416. It starts with seven pages (385-391) of editorials and small articles taken from other sources. It then deals with its major story on the debates in Congress over a Reduction in the Tariff for the next 25 pages (392-416). The booklet ends with half a page on the "Latest from England".
The booklet's pages are tanned with light foxing. There is a small tear in the upper right corner of the first page. The text is clear and easily read. The overall condition of the item is good.
