Photo by the Dominion Photograph Company (1871-1944) of Vancouver measures 9.5 X 7.5 inches mounted on heavy card stock 14 X 12 inches.

Single Photograph. Vg. 7 x 10 Inches. Original sepia toned photograph of a group of 22 unknown Loggers/Lumberjacks posing in the woods. Photo is 7.5 X 4.5 inches, mounted on a 10 X 7 card and shows the woodsmen with their tools:7 crosscut saws and several axes. My guess is that the location is Eastern Canada. The trees in the surrounding area are small compared to Pacific coastal trees. The crew may only be clearing a smaller municiple lot as well.I am also guessing at the age of the photo (circa 1900) A nostalgic look to when the hardest work was done by hand. "Gustave Le Gray (1820-1882) was one of the most technically accomplished and aesthetically enlightened of the early "artist-photographers." Trained as a painter of portraits and landscapes, Le Gray was attracted in the 1840s to the artistic potential of photographic processes. As a photographer he evolved and refined much of photography's primary aesthetic theory. By 1855 he had influenced, if not taught, every important photographer in France.

Abdülaziz of the Ottoman Empire or Abdülaziz I (9 February 1830 - 4 June 1876) was the 32nd Sultan of the Ottoman Empire and reigned between June 1861 and May 1876. He was the son of Sultan Mahmud II and succeeded his brother Abdülmecid I in 1861. Born at Eyüp Palace, Constantinople (present-day Istanbul), on 9 February 1830, Abdülaziz received an Ottoman education but was nevertheless an ardent admirer of the material progress that was made in the West. He was the first Ottoman Sultan who travelled to Western Europe, visiting a number of important European capitals including Paris, London and Vienna in the summer of 1867.
