London: Collins. Very Good- in Good dust jacket. 1951. First Edition. Hardcover. 244 p. 20 cm. Sound and square binding in green, cloth-covered boards. Top forecorners are lightly bumped. All corners show light wear. Spine titles dulled. The edges of the text block are tanned and the top edge is heavily foxed. Both sets of endpapers have offset discoloration from the flap folds as well some foxing. Inside pages are clean and unmarked, with some age toning. Dustjacket has chipps to the spine ends and corners, with several tiny to short edge tears. The top edge of both flaps is foxed, with a few foxing spots on the panels. Not price clipped. Sound and square binding in cloth-covered boards. Light wear to the corners and spine ends. Text block edges are lightly toned. Previous owner had taped several newsclippings to the rear endpapers, which have become detached and left tape shadow marks. Clippings have been left laid in. Otherwise, the inside pages are clean and unmarked. Dust jacket has heavy edge wear; including small and large chips, short and long tears, and creases. One long tear has been cello tape reinforced on reverse side. A few tiny holes in the spine. Light soil overall. Jack Miner's story of his bird sanctuary and knowledge of and relationship with birds. Denys Watkins-Pitchford is known for his observant and empathetic stories and illustrations of nature and wildlife. .
