Rutland, VT: The Tuttle Co, 1931. Limited Edition. Small Quarto. Limited to 500 copies. The present copy is numbered 289 and signed by the author. While there are other books about covered bridges, this book is about the Covered bridges of New England only. Many of these bridges, since this publication, have not survived. The images of these bridges are all that is to remind us of their life. Bound in brown suede over boards, spine lettered and decorate in gilt, marbled endpapers.

Norman, OK; (1968): University of Oklahoma Press. First Edition. Octavo. 300pp. illustrated by photographs. American history through the life of Ben Kemp. At twenty-one he was considered the best bronco buster in his part of Texas. In the 1880s he was with the Texas Rangers. The reader will also find new found heroes, Captain George W. Baylor, the Apache Kid, and Black Jack Ketchum are just a few known by Ben throughout Texas and the New Mexico frontier. Bound in yellow cloth, spine lettering gilt and brown, near fine in unclipped pictorial dust jacket, some rubbing to rear panel and edges, wrinkle near foot, numbers 9368 stamped to front pastedown and bottom of front flap, previous owner's bookplate on rear pastedown. [Wisconsin] (1906): The Whitewater Federation of Women's Clubs. First Edition. Octavo. A continuation added by Spencer S. Steel, 1857-1867 and edited by Albert Salisbury, 1906. portrait frontispiece of the author, 283pp., photo-illustrated ,with biographical sketches of some of the more prominent pioneers and with a roster of the whitewater volunteers during the civil war. Bound in green cloth lettered in white, spine lettering gilt, minor fraying to spine ends, previous owner's bookplate and inscription dated 1906. A very good copy of this important and scarce work pertaining to Whitewater.

Dexter, Maine: Eastern Gazette, 1904. 32p. Very scarce. Besides a history of the town, there are nice photographs one from Main Street in 1847 when it was mud with a few large buildings to a picture taken in 1901 when it was far more developed. Photographs of the churches, the large mills, the banks, the stores, and biographies of the leading businessmen, churches, and an advertisement for the Shortline between Dover, Foxcroft, Dexter and Portland and Boston. ex-library in paper boards (with one chip off lower corner) $75.00.

Bohlin, May 12, 1895-May 28, 1980. 332pp., 8 pages of color illustrations, including photo of Tom Selleck wearing the " Joe Wade " Buckle. 2- Full page photos of Mr. Bohlin. All pages with illustration, description and price. Bound in cream pictorial paper wraps lettered and decorated in brown. Near fine.

New York; (1977): Vantage Press. First Edition. Quarto. Inscribed by the author. 272 pages. An essential history with hundreds of photographs. It is the story of those people, many of whose descendants still make their homes in the area. More than just a geographical and political history, it tells the tale of a continuing struggle to make the land blossom and bear fruit, not only of vegetable and mineral resources, but of human resources, it is the story of a hardy people who lived, fought, and died for their new land in the rugged Dakotas. A very good copy bound in brown cloth, spine lettering black, wear to corners, spine ends worn and shipped, in good dust jacket worn with tears and creasing.

Oklahoma City: Western Heritage Books, 1983. First Edition. Octavo-oblong. 112 pages, inscribed by her in the year of publication to Shirley and Dan Gruber who were new leaders of the Flying Farmers. Illustrated with black and white photographic images. The flying farmers took ranch management to a new level. Their airplanes could now be used in spraying, seeding, checking distance fences. as well as locating either stray livestock or those stranded by flood conditions. Their first meeting was on August 3, 1944, where they met along with their wives who often would fly in their own planes. There is a picture of the farmers with Broneta Davis Evans who was the only one with an actual pilot's license and is the author of this book. Bound in ¼ dark blue leather over blue cloth stamp and lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt. A very nice copy.

Moore was a prominent Mason in Virginia, copies of this title are scarce six are present in Virginia Libaries and one at Florida State.

Glendale, CA: Arthur H. Clark, 1975. First Edition. Octavo. 249 pp. Western Frontiersman Series v. XVI. 19 illustrations, 5 maps. unopened. Aubrey was no obscure petty trader on the frontier. From 1846 to 1854 he was the busiest, most effective merchant on the Saint Louis-Santa Fe-Chihuahua-California routes. He spent money and valuable time in finding short cuts on the Santa Fe and Chihuahua trails. When the Unites States government planned a series of surveys to find the best railroad route to the Pacific, Aubrey, at a great personal expense, made two overland trips from Dan Francisco to Santa Fe. This route along the 35th parallel was later followed by the Santa Fe Railroad. Much more biography of Aubry never before written. Bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt. Near fine.

The records showed everyone over the age of 16 who owned a horse or a cow. comparing the annual accounts help determine the widow as well as the death of each person listed. Bound in red cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt. A fine bright copy.

[Decatur, GA. (nd.ca.1970): Author. Octavo. 129 pages, illustrated with maps, plans, and portraits. This copy inscribed "To Another Hoosier--Katherine Switzer Bolt, August 28, 1970". Laid in is a long letter on Dogwood Farm stationary signed by the author with 12 lines where she writes of her life and her joy to share Indiana History, and she tells how book was prepared and how without a publisher she got a nice hardcover produced. A very good copy bound in green cloth stamped in gilt, spine lettering gilt.

Minnesota: Ross & Haines Inc, 1966. Limited Edition. Octavo. Limited to 1500 copies. 529pp., illustrated by F. Colburn Clarke, History of the American West from its earliest gropings toward empire to the final spike of the Union Pacific Railroad. A near fine copy bound in blue denim cloth, spine lettering gilt, in very good pictorial dust jacket with light chipping to spine ends.

(North Star Press, St. Cloud, MN. 2005). First Edition. Octavo. xiii, 235 pages. Inscribed by the author on the half-title page. The author who passed away in 2012, was born and raised in Chisholm became a navigator on a B-24 bomber in World War II and after the war entered the University of Minnesota where he graduated from both the college and medical school. He describes what life was like in small iron-mining town in northern Minnesota where the education was unique with more than 50% of the population was foreign born. He describes the effects both of the Great Depression and World War II. Since working on the Iron Range was the main job for everyone, the locals called themselves "Rangers". Since this book was issued in a small print run it is relatively uncommon.

East Aurora, NY: Roycrofters. Octavo. We are told the book belonged to Grace D. Smith from Clara, October 19th. 1907. From an internal reading of the forty-five pages, we see that the activity is from a large home in the Northeast. Students from Yale drop in, many bridge games are held (sometimes giving score, prizes), recipes are sometimes clipped and placed into the book. Events began in 1909 and conclude in 1930. OCLC records only one copy (University of Pennsylvania) but that is a blank book. Among the common family appearances are the Bushnells, Lytells, Platts, Waldrons, and the Watsons as well as the Smith. Bound in green suede, title gilt within blind stamped border, yapped edges, some soiling to binding. A very good copy.

Quarto. 143 pages (unpublished manuscript). Oliver B. Jones was a prominent member of the Hamilton County Bar and served on the Ohio Court of Appeals from 1913-1919. While his day book appears as a ledger, it covers details relating to the case of Elizabeth Kuerze vs. the German Western Bank relative to the anti-German hysteria that led the school board to drop German as an elective in their language program. Nevertheless, the school board had deposited $800,000 in the Western German Bank [which now changed its legal name to the Western Bank]. Meanwhile, Robert M. Kuerze died with 2900 shares in Gerke Brewing which went to his widow, Elizabeth Kuerze. As the Corporation dissolved, the court appointed receiver ruled in her favor that she was to receive $120, 931. It was complicated since $60,000 from the bank was supposed to be paid to Gerke Brewing. Pages 136-142 show that the litigation now involved naming the Western Bank in the case which also extended to the Baltimore & Ohio Southwestern Railroad.… Leer más

Fellows of Tilton, N.H. from W.E. Chandler, dated Jan. 15, 1913, Washington, D.C. [Chandler was a Senator from N.H. and state house representative 1862-1864 and served as speaker during the last two years; appointed by President Lincoln solicitor and judge advocate general of the Navy Dept. Chandler describes the author to the Judge ... that he was a great inventor and took out many patents of various kinds. That he lived in Northwood, N.H and was a member of the legislature when he (Chandler, A Republican) was defeated in 1901.He goes on to say...." you will remember the latter event for which, among many other things, the Republican party is helplessly suffering temporary annihilation.....
