Scarce vanity-published adventure novel concerning the search for the Bronze Serpent of the Old Testament, pitting an idealistic rabbi against a self-promoting millionaire. The novel is rich in Masonic allusion, the Brazen Serpent being the emblem of the Masonic twenty-fifth degree. The author, a medical doctor from Marion County, West Virginia, published regularly in the New York Masonic Outlook under the pseudonym "C. Macaulay.

Signed by the author on the inner rear cover. A Fine copy, reprinting Zelazny's first publication, taken from the EUCUYO, his senior high school literary magazine, when he was just 16 years old. An elusive publication.

A highly original sci-fi yarn in which the world enters a state of suspended animation for...well, Three Thousand Years, after which mankind awakens and finds the world horribly changed and perilous, at which point they just go back to continuing the unwise behaviour that got them there in the first place. A cautionary tale, in case we needed another one of those.
