Self-published collection by this seminal Alberta cowboy poet who settled with his family in Lacombe, Alberta in 1892. Bagley's work clearly inspired such better-known successors as Lloyd Dolen, Bryn Thiessen, and James Moir. Uncommon.

Gentle sunning and light wear to spine and extremities, with some dust-soil to lower front wrapper; contents clean; Very Good+. Uncommon novel (in Finnish) set in the Kalevan Kansa Colony, a short-lived socialist utopia founded in 1901 on the island of Sointula, off the coast of British Columbia. Text entirely in Finnish. OCLC notes 12 holdings, of these, only 8 in the U.S.

Government reproductions of maps used in 1903 border disputes with Britain, showing the American claim to the land; effectively, a cartographic history of Alaska. When the U.S. purchased Alaska from Russia in 1821, it inherited a dispute over the territory's border with British Columbia. Original red cloth, gilt-stamped, top edge gilt; plain endpapers; xvi,340pp; 6 photogravure plates, 6 color halftones, and 76 relief plates. Bookplate of Robert Garrett. Straight but rubbed, boards lightly bowed, internally with scattered minor foxing, but plates largely clean: Very Good. Millais was a travel writer and naturalist, known for his books on wildlife. He explored Newfoundland in the late nineteenth century. This work includes numerous photographs of caribou hunting. With the bookplate of Robert Garrett (1875-1961), an Olympian, banker, and Baltimore philanthropist who financed archaeological expeditions in Syria.

This bulletin issued shortly after the temporary transfer of the Organization's world headquarters from Geneva to Montreal, the result of wartime instability in continental Europe.

The Jewish Canadian author's third novel. While not explicitely marked as such, it is at least possible this was a file copy held by the Andre Deutsch offices in Don Mills, Ontario.
