This is a reprint of the original 1906 edition, dated 1911 with the original introduction by Sumner, a Yale professor, and a secondary introduction by his colleague A.J. Keller, noting that Sumner had died in 1910 and that a photograph taken in 1902 had been inserted. Title page loose. Pages clean and binding square. No DJ.

After her retirement, Ms. Ward was an active poet and essayist. She had four books of poetry published and wrote an opinion column for the Sun Post, a community paper of the Robbinsdale, Minnesota area.".

She now teaches at Seton Hall University. The study became briefly controversial in 2012 when an anti-gay activist attempted to use it show that gay parents were bad for children. But as  Sirota pointed out, her study is about the impact of a homosexual father raising a girl in a heterosexual marriage, not the effect of children having parents of the same sex.
