Descripción:
Prince and the Pauper, by Mark Twain 1882, James R. Osgood and company Boston First edition, first printing, first state with errors. Original 3/4 publisher's morocco leather with marbled boards. Issue Points: A first printing must meet the following two points: 1) Franklin Press imprint on copyright page . 2) The following textual errors: "estate" on page 124, "do not" on 263, and "reigned" on 362. Though this book was issued in the last days of December of 1881, all first printings of this title gave "1882" on the title page and "1881" as the copyright. This book has a Christmas gift inscription dated 1881, so this book was likely purchased and gifted immediately. * For a full discussion of the complex bibliographical history of this book consult the `Firsts' magazine issued in July/Aug/Sept, 1998* Condition: Very good condition. Leather bindings of Twain books are notoriously found in poor shape. This copy is seldom seen in such exemplary shape. Hinges and binding tight. Some wear to the edges…

Title: Gone With the WindAuthor: Margaret MitchellPublisher & Year: Macmillan (1936)Edition: First edition, first printing book (per May, 1936 and no other dates on the copyright page). An original, first printing jacket with "Macmillan Spring Novels" on the back panel. Retains the original price of $3.00 on the front flap.Condition and Description: See pictures. The book itself is in phenomenal condition and among the best I have ever seen. The hinges and binding are tight, which is uncommon for this edition, and for books of this size from that era more generally. The pages are clean without any notations, stamps, underlining, or previous owner's marks. The jacket has not fared as well, as it has fully separated along the joint where the front panel meets the spine backstrip and also at the front flap. It has some loss around the top of the spine crown. Nevertheless, the jacket presents well and is quite scarce in the first issue.

Edition information. First edition and first printing of the book and jacket. The dust jacket features the price of $1.50 on the front panel (the second issue had a price of $2.50 on the inner front flap). The book itself features a date of October, 1911 on the copyright page and the Scribner's seal (later editions/printings were stated). The first edition was released simultaneously by different publishers in New York (Charles Scribner's Sons) and the London (Hodder & Stoughton).Condition. The book itself is stunning in every way. The jacket, notoriously fragile and equally as scarce, ranks among the finest a collector might find. This gray and gold jacket precedes the second issue, which featured a green design on a white background. The American and British publishers quickly switched over to the green and white design as the first issue jacket was prone to extreme fading. Other such copies show this kind of wear, which is particularly harmful to the aesthetic. This jacket lacks such fading. The… Leer más

Title: Tender is the NightAuthor: F. Scott FitzgeraldPublisher and Year: Scribner's (1934)
Edition: The book is a first edition, first printing (per the "A" on the copyright page). The original dust jacket is a first issue with a price of $2.50 and three reviews on the front flap by Eliot, Mencken, and Rosenfeld (the second issue dust jacket had different reviews). Bibliographic reference: Bruccoli A15.I.a.
Condition and Description: See pictures. 8vo in publisher's dark green, textured cloth. Hinges and binding sturdy. Very slight spine lean. A touch of foxing on the edges of the textblock; interior clean. No writing or underlining. The original dust jacket is in uncommonly good condition with absolutely no restoration at all. Comes in a custom made morocco box made by the H&H bindery, which they produce at a cost of $1,500. Altogether an exemplary example of this American classic.
