First edition with the three-page preface by Charles Spencer "Charlie" Chaplin, missing from later editions. The title appeared posthumously; Faure was actually a vaunted art historian of his time and a student of Bergson, the book is an exception to his oeuvre. Lightly browned throughout, as is the jacket, which is not quite fresh; please see photos. With chapters on dance and cinema, mysticism and cinema, and the vocation of cinema.

Interesting little publication, in which on the last page is shown for the first time the famous bull's head ("Tête de taureau") from 1942, assembled from bicycle saddle and handlebars. We were not able to fully clarify the authorship of the text. Our copy names Picasso himself as the author of the text on the inside title. Other sources refer to Pierre-André Benoit and Bernard Loliée or Jean-François Chabrun and Robert Rius.
