Small hardback souvenir copy of the Keynote Speech made by Homer Cummings at the 1920 Democratric Party Convention in San Francisco. Cummings (1870-1956) was an American lawyer and politician who was the U.S. Attorney General from 19330 to 1939. He served as chairman of the Democratic National Committee between 1919 to 1920. Inscribed by Cummings to the Hon. Patrick Quealy, a Wyoming businessman with widespread commercial, financial, and coal mining interests. The book cover's corner tips at slightly bumped. Binding and spine remain tight. Former library book.

McGuffey's spelling book (1846 Revised Edition) in brown paper over boards. Cloth spine badly worn at head and tail. Cover tips worn but sharp. Inside pages are clean and tight. Illustrated with woodcuts. No extraneous writing of any kind.

This is a hardbound copy of Bulletin No. 12 from the University of Oregon's Museum of Natural History (now the Museum of Natural and Cultural History). The Three Sisters area covered in this publication is a 19-mile segment of the Cascade Range and, Ireland writes, "includes about two hundred square miles of spectacular laval flows, forests, glaciers and snow-clad volcanic cones." This volume is in fine condition with no extraneous writing, marks or underlinings. It appears unread, or lightly read. Includes map, nine color photos, and many line drawing of plants.

Story and sketches. Heartwarming and historical story, written for ages 12 and up, of how a stray, gaunt, brown dog becomes attached to Field Artillery "D" Battery at Fort Bragg. Although just a "mutt", he howls like an Alaskan Husky and becomes their mascot. He is trained and accompanies them overseas to fight in the war. Named Chinook, he becomes a hero during WWII (1941-1945). It is beautifully Illustrated with the art work of the renown illustrator, Paul Brown. Handsome copy in very good condition. Pages are intact, and not marred by notes or highlighting. Spine is undamaged. Dust jacket has small pieces out of lower left corner of front cover and top of spine, but they do not mar cover images.

In 1832, after 17 years in Europe, Washingon Irving arrvied back in New York. He was soon off to see the American frontier in the company of Henry Leavitt Ellsworth. The editors of Ellsworth's journal note that Ellsworth's "narrative is now an indispensible bit of Irvingiana." The dust jacket, which has the priced clipped and has a few spots and wear on edges, is in a protective mylar cover. Binding tight. No extraneous writing or marks on pages.

French-language edition with three short pieces by Voltaire, illustrated by Robert Polack. 217 pp. Six watercolor illustrations on glassine. Former library book with markings on spine and inside front and back covers. The cover is in a fragile condition with brown paper starting to peel away from the cream wraps. All six illustrations on glassine are included, although one has pulled free of the binding.

This photo history details the German production of the Panzer in the latter part of World War I. Dozens of black and white photographs, as well as many pages of color photographs. Blueprints are also included.

Former library book with accession number on spine; bookplate dated 1983 and stamped address and "withdrawn" notices on first paste down page and last ffy and paste-down page. Cover tips and top and bottom of spine are rubbed, showing wear. FIrst free fly leaf is coming loose; stains along the edge this page and the title page show where the pages had been taped previously. No tape left. Otherwise, binding remains tight. The pages of the book are lightly tanned, but otherwise clean without marks or writing.

Published in 1857, this copy is in a deluxe binding of three-quarter brown leather with marbled boards and page edges, as well as marbled endpapers. The cover's spine has five raised bands with gilt panels, and the gilt title is on black leather. Other deluxe features -- two hand-colored plates of birds. Pages are clean. PROBLEMS: Folding map is missing; last page of table of contents is missing; leather worn at edges and corners; marbled paper on cover is scuffed and worn; and edges of covers are worn to the boards. 630 pages. 150 engravings.

Small volume (6.5 by 5.5 by .5 inches, 70 pages) in soft red leather binding, which is slightly curled at the edges. No date but there is a bookmark dated 1910. Dodge Publishing Company, was founded in 1895 in San Francisco as the Dodge Book and Stationery Store. The business moved to New York 1989, and continued there until 1928. The title page of "Compensation" contains the description: Makers of Unique Books.

No dust jacket. Book is in very good minus condition, especially considering its age. Cover corner tips rubbed with rubbing to top and bottom of spine. Gilt title on spine has faded somewhat. Spine and binding remain tight. Small stains on first paste down page and first free fly leaf, as well as on text block, and last free fly leaf. No extranerous writing inside the book. No previous owner's name. This is not an ex-library book.

This copy of "Sayings of the Father in Etchings by Saul Raskin" is one of a scarce 1940 edition. It was published by Academy Photo Offset. Hardcover. There are many full page etchings which display great detail. Problems: Top and bottom of spine are missing pieces. However, the binding remains strong and intact. Inside pages are in very good condition. No dust jacket. Pirke Aboth consists of paragraphs on ethical maxims attributed to 65 teachers, Tannaim, covering a period of about two centuries B.C.E. and two centuries C.E.

Contents in very good condition: Interior pages clean and sound, not shaken. Newspaper clipping "James Lick's Estate" glued to verso of title page, leaving light offsetting on the page V "Introduction." Green cloth covers good. Bevelled corners bumped and worn thru to boards. Head cap and tail cap are worn. One small triangular piece (1/4 inch by 1/2 inch) worn from bottom of front cover with board showing. Front hinge (coated brown paper) repaired. Rear hinge OK but loose.

This guide to Georgia was compiled and written by workers of the Writers' Program of the Work Projects Administration (WPA). The 559-page volume comes with 10 maps, illustrations, chronology, bibliography, and index. This copy in in overall "good-minus" condition because of the sad state of its pullout maps (whose folds were repaired so long ago that the dried-up cellophane tape comes free with a shake). A discard from the Schenectady Public Library, the book itself is in good condition with a tight binding.

French language edition published in Paris in 1935 with full color illustrations by Hedvig Collin. Pages badly age tanned; illustrations remain bright. Spine and binding tight. Cover lettering in gilt with laminated color illustration of the "soldate de plomb."
