Hand-colored title p., 6 tinted photos. Circa 1880s. One plate is missing, "Shadow Falls." All others are present & in v.g. cond. Some one has penciled in homeowners names next to some of the photos. All edges gold gilt. Leather re-backed spine w/new endpapers. Leather corners, cloth boards w/title stamped on front cover, all in v.g. cond. An important Minnesota item. Rare.

In a quarter leather bound slipcase w/green cloth boards w/green cloth chemise. The spine of the slipcase is discolored to brown but is generally in v.g. cond. w/raised bands & gold-foil stamping. Former owner's/child's bookplate also on the f.f.e.p.. Sl. darkening on the inside gutters both front & back. The price-clipped d/w shows sl. edge wear sl. darkening on the front & back.The spine is also darkened but all is quite legible. O/W no markings or underlinings. Not ex-lib. Near fine condition for this scarce 1st edition.

All protected by an inner cloth chemise in a brown cloth slipcase w/red leather label on the spine. The rest of the title: ".comprising, such plain & simple rules, as are necessary to introduce the inexperienced into full knowledge of all that relates to the dog, and the correct use of the gun; also a description of the game of this country.
