Corners bumped, spine ends softened, some marks to cloth. Pages darkening with a few spots to pages and text block edge. Pages 9-17 have marks on upper corners. Travel through the Prairies, Missouri, "Mormondom," San Francisco, Yosemite, Panama, etc. with comments on the Chinese, mining, agriculture, the Digger Indians, geysers, big trees, and so on.

Some wear to a few illustrations inside, mainly front and rear. Two tears in lower parts of folds. Small spot near Blarney Castle caption but overall clean. Includes illustrations of Sackville Street in Dublin, Trinity College, Vale of Ovoca, Blarney Castle, Queenstown, Belfast, Londonderry, Giants Causeway, etc. Publisher's list of view albums listed inside rear cover - over 100 from Aberdeen to York.

Cape Ann Scientific and Literary Association, 1923. Hardcover. Good. 106 p. 20 cm. Brown cloth spine and pictorial paper-covered boards. Mainly light wear and soiling except bottom corners worn. Signed by author and dedicatee. The "old roads" take one to Split-rock Pasture for skunk cabbage, around the Little Heater Road for arbutus, to Salt Island for Dutchman's breeches, over Fox Hill for rhodora, and other quaint places for similar flora. We assume signed by author but it's rather illegible.

London: T. Nelson and Sons, 1852. Cloth Bound. Fair. 237 p. 13 cm. Engraved frontispiece. Cloth hardcover is worn with cracked hinges and bumped corners. Front hinge cracked internally but rear tape repaired. Front free endpaper torn out. Frontispiece very loose. Some spotting to first pages but most of book clean. Contents: voyages in search of a northeast passage; towards the North Pole; a northwest passage; Ross and Parry in search of a northwest passage; Ross's second voyage; recent voyages towards the North Pole; expeditions to the seas around Boothia; the Franklin expedition.

Edinburgh: Sands, Murray, and Cochran, 1752. Full-Leather. Very Good. xxiv, 258 p. 16 cm. Full leather. Spine chipped at head and tail, some scuffing. Bookplate on front pastedown, front free endpaper loosening, owner's signature on front free, small stain on fore-edge. Gilbert Burnet was encouraged in his love of books at a very young age. Though his dreams lay elsewhere, he entered the church at his father's wishes and was promoted to the station of Bishop of Salisbury. Nonetheless, it is through his writing that he is known and respected, especially his contributions to our knowledge and history of the times. First published in 1686 as "Some letters, containing an account of what seemed most remarkable in Switzerland, Italy, etc."

1930s. Good. 19 cm bookmark of machine-embroidered silk with fringe on each end. Building constructed in 1932 is now in use as a youth hostel. Wangerooge is a small island of 8 sq. km off north coast of Germany near the Netherlands.

Jacket spine darkened, small chips in head and heel of spine, a few small chips in edges elsewhere. Parts of the book first appeared in the ''Vancouver News Herald'.
