The novel centers around the life of Jacob Flanders, but indirectly. More of a character study than a story, Jacob is viewed through the eyes of other characters.

Jacobs Room by Virginia Woolf - Set in pre-war England, the story begins in Jacob's childhood following his journey through college at Cambridge and into adulthood. The story is told mostly through the perspectives of the women in Jacob's life, including the repressed upper-middle-class Clara Durrant and the wild and free young art student Florinda, with whom he has an affair. Any profits made from the sale of this book will go towards supporting the Freeriver Community project, a project that aims to support community and encourage well-being.
