Denmark 2015. Remember the DANSK stores around the U.S., I wonder if you miss them as much I do ? Finally the designer of most of the contents of these stores had a one man exhibition in Denmark, where he is was not well-known. Jens Quistgaard regarded himself more as a sculptor than a designer, however he did practice industrial design, thereby expanding the traditional role of the artist. This exhibition shows how the design of objects and utensils for daily use in the home was achieved with techniques and form language, which heralded new times within design and industrial mass production, whilst still preserving craftsmanship. Several of Quistgaard’s designs and ideas, which today may seem somewhat simple, were actually revolutionary for their time. Denmark 2010. The first exhibition at the HEART Museum was a retrospective exhibition by the Italian artist Jannis Kounelli (born in Greece). The exhibition is the first bigger presentation of Kounellis' work in Scandinavia and the artist have made a number of new pieces for the opening exhibition at HEART.Jannis Kounellis (b. 1936) has for more than forty years played an important role in contemporary art. He had a central role in the 1960's Arte-Povera movement which opposed the painting that wished to redefine the language of art.
