Paperback version of the best field guide series. This one HAS been in the field, but is still in good shape. A little bit worn at the corners and along the outer edge of the cover. A few spots on the page ends and you can see where the thumb was used to find the right page after pulling a critter out from under a log or rock. Color plates located in the center of the book, with some black and white illustrations scattered throughout. All pages intact. A very useful book, if you happen to be east of the Rockies.
