Bound in modern full leather, panelled boards, raised bands, gilt tooling, leather labels, marble endpapers. Bindings in near fine condition. Internally, some minor repairs of nicks, soiling, staining to top margin of about 180pp in volume 2, slightly heavier, becoming lighter as pages progress. Generally pages in good condition. A good copy, in near fine bindings. The fifth and final edition of Johnson's Dictionary to be published in his lifetime, and the final edition to be published as a full, unabridged two-volume folio. Fifth Edition. Very Good. Folio - over 12" - 15" tall.

This anthology includes 4,000 of the most representative, entertaining, and historically fascinating entries, covering subjects from fashion to food, science to sex, and given in full with original spelling and examples of usage from Shakespeare to Milton.

We are a long established company dealing in second-hand, out of print and antiquarian books on all subjects. We are based in Hertfordshire, just 2 miles north of Junction 25 of the M25. We are members of the PBFA and exhibit at a large number of their fairs across the UK. We also exhibit in London at least twice a month at the Russell and Royal National Hotels, and regularly exhibit at H&D fairs in the South East, we also organise a monthly Fair at the Royal National Hotel, this fair has exhibitors specialising in books, maps, prints and ephemera.
