Sobre este artículo

New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1938. Hardcover. Very good +. First Edition 427 pp. Octavo. Original cream coloured boards. Green lettering on the spine. Green lettering and illustration on the front boards. Head and tail edge trimmed. Edges are dust soiled. Light crease on back endpaper. The dust jacket has not been price clipped and is in very good condition with some staining on the back. Pages are unmarked and overall condition of the book is very good +. This book was created before the concept of a young adult novel existed, but it has become a standard in that genre. A boy adopts an orphaned fawn, and the novel chronicles the year they spend together. The Yearling is a Pulitzer Prize winning novel and would be a wonderful gift for a young adult, or someone who is young at heart. Read the book, and then watch the Academy Award winning movie. 1938

Sinopsis

The Yearling is a 1938 novel written by Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings. It won the Pulitzer Prize for the Novel in 1939. Rawlings's editor was Maxwell Perkins, who also worked with F. Scott Fitzgerald, Ernest Hemingway, and other literary luminaries. She had submitted several projects to Perkins for his review, and he rejected them all. He instructed her to write about what she knew from her own life, and the result of her taking his advice was The Yearling.
