With true admiration for their own achievements. April 3, 2002." Don Hewitt (1922-2009) was the creator of 60 Minutes on CBS Television. His show won eight Emmy Awards and became the longest-running prime-time broadcast on American television. His wife, Marilyn Berger, was also a journalist, working for the New York Times and the Washington Post. This work by Robert Caro, Master of the Senate, won the 2003 Pulitzer Prize for Biography and the 2002 National Book Award.
