Sobre este artículo
The rare first edition of this compendium of German-language press responses to the death of former APO leader Rudi Dutschke in Aarhus, Denmark. Dutschke (1940-1979) was the most vocal leader of the West Berlin student movement of the 1960s. In 1968, he was the victim of an assassination attempt; in 1979, he died from its after-effects despite a long rehabilitation process. The two volumes were produced at great personal expense and the result of painstaking efforts, and appeared with the financial assistance of Joseph Beuys and his Free International University. Laid in is a type-written and hand-signed letter by the editor, Ralf Gregor Küpper, which gives the publication date as December 1980 and announces a second edition, which appeared in a single bound volume. The compilation of these news clippings, from newspapers of all sizes and political camps, was part of the APO's fight against the power of the conservative press, which radicalized Dutschke's opponents through its highly tendentious reporting during the 1960s and following his attempted murder. The book was issued with the extremely high price of 105 Mark, most of which was intended to benefit the activist's widow and children.
Rare; KVK, OCLC show copies of the first edition at Freie Universität Berlin only. The second edition is held at Stuttgart, Tübingen, Hannover, and Stanford University.
