The Glacier Metal Company initiated and oversaw this major long-term project on all aspects of industrail management organization structure and staff relations, including the creation of a Glaciet Institute of Management. The authors were the major figures in this, the former being MD of Glacier and its successor Amalgamated Engineering, Jaques being a psychoanalyst and Professor in the School of Social Sciences at Brunel College. An important and now scarce work, especially in this condition.
