Binding is tight, sturdy, and square; very minor wear to edges of orange cloth boards, printed plate on front board remains bold; illustrations and text also very good. Ships from Dinkytown (actually the exact building/unit that once housed Dingman's Dinkytown Antiquarian!) in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

A tall book, 4 1/2" x 10 1/2", bound in orange cloth with printed title label on front cover. 97pp. Illustrated with booksellers marks which is what each page is composed of. Index by state. Blank sheets in back for writing notes. This is a splendid book by the fine antiquarian bookseller, beautifully designed, printed, and bound. Dingman in each copy placed several actual printed booksellers' marks in the appropriate spaces. This copy inscribed to your bookseller after he visited Dingman's shop in 1986. Larry was in the process of having the book bound and soon mailed me a copy. Laid in is Larry's letter to me dated July 26, just about the time I was making a major move from northern Wisconsin to Washington State. A fine copy. No dj was issued.

This book reproduces 444 original book marks used by various American book dealers, with a short preface by the compiler, and an essay by Michael Q. Adams on "Booksellers' Marks: A 'Tiny' Aspect of Bookselling History.' Each copy had tipped in several original specimens. This copy has the original labels of Gelber Lilienthal in San Francisco, Paul Elder's Books in San Francisco, and Dinkytown Books in Minneapolis. The Dinkytown label seems to be in all copies.
