Expected library inserts, stamps and inscriptions. Contains black and white diagrams throughout with 2 folded tables. Pages are lightly tanned with mild foxing throughout. Slight cracking to gutters on occasion, exposing netting. Binding remains firm with all pages attached. Paper remnants with scuffing to a few pages. Some pages have been repaired to gutters. Folded tabled are in good condition with minor creasing. Boards have noticeable edge wear with corner bumping. Mild tanning to spine and edges with some crushing to spine ends. Library sticker taped to spine bottom edge with minor paper remnants across spine. Faint black marks overall. Book has a slight forward lean.

Foxing to edges and endleaves, else a clean example of thus uncommon offprint featuring a significant lecture by the pioneering British aviator and automobile entrepreneur.

A good or better copy in the publisher's red cloth, crisp and clean, but marred by some shallow but notable chewing to the board extremities. In the rare dust jacket, with commensurate wear, but no large chips; very good. This copy SIGNED and INSCRIBED by Lanchester on the front free endpaper: "To Col. O. Filley USA Air Service with compliments F. W. Lanchester." Lanchester was a pioneer in automobile and aviation engine design, and his autograph is quite scarce in commerce.

Publisher's blue cloth binding with gilt lettering on spine and blind-stamped titling on front cover. xvi + 442 pp. Heavily illustrated with drawings, charts and photographs. frontispiece photo detached and with one inch tear and degraded corner. Slight water stains on front endpaper and 2nd of cover. These are the only blemishes found on this very excellent hundred year old plus copy.Volume 2 : Aerodonetics: Very Good +. "Second Edition" stated on title page dated 1910. Publisher's bluish-green cloth binding with gilt letting on the spine and titling stamped into the cloth on the front cover. xv + 433 pages, including Glossary, eight Appendices, and Index, followed by the publisher's separately paginated 64-page Catalogue of Technical and Scientific Books dated 1916, which includes its own Index of Titles.Both volumes are heavily illustrated with drawings, diagrams and photographs throughout, including… Leer más
