Berlin: Scarabaeus, 1922. Hardcover. Poor. Volume 3 of the set, containing Plates 61-120. Cloth is soiled and edge worn. Water stains to the bottom half of the pages throughout, affecting mostly the paper on which the plates are mounted. Plates themselves are soiled at the bottom margins, several are scuffed where they have stuck together, otherwise in good condition. Several pages are torn and the spine is splitting; again plates are not affected.

On volume I it is only a bit of the top edge of the back board. Volume III the gnawing is on both top board edges and into the margins of the text-block but not affecting the plates or text.

All three volumes bumped, frayed and worn at head and heel of spine and corners of boards, with corners bumped heavily; numerous marks, smudges and stains on covers; page edges tanned, endpapers discolored. Vol. I front hinge cracked with front free endpaper and first several leaves loose; Vol. II scuffed and frayed at edges of boards; Vol. III bumped at edges of boards, scuffed at upper edge of front board. Vol. I illustrated throughout, including a few color plates, folding map; Vols. II and II consist entirely of tipped-in color plates. In German.

The text volume (Volume I) is complete with its 21 full-page plates (including 12 in color), 140 in-text figs, 3 aquarelle reproductions and a partly colored folded map at rear. All vols. exteriors soiled, boards moderately bowed, prev. owner's bookplate (removed in Vol. 1). Vol. 1, interior hinge split at copyright pg., leaving front board somewhat loose but still well-attached; smudging/staining to front flyleaves & faint water-stain along lower margin of approx. first 25 pgs., light moisture-rippling to final 50 pgs. or so; sm nicks or crinkling to some pg. edges, light foxing to tissue protecting some plates, not affecting plates themselves.
