Howard Bernhardt Adelmann was an American zoologist-embryologist and historian of science. He was professor of histology and embryology at Cornell University from 1921 until 1963.

There are several smudge marks on the verso of the second flyleaf of volume 1. The slipcase is in very good condition, with bumping at the head of the spine.
