Puzzles have been coloured or completed in pencil on pages 24, 67 & 92. Previous owner's inscription to front endpaper. Minimal foxing and tanning to endpapers and page edges. Some gutter cracking. Mild wear and bumping to spine, board edges and corners, with scuffing and marking to boards. Boards are slightly curved.

Purnell and Sons, Ltd, 1111. Hardcover. Good/Good. Unpaginated. Yellow pictorial boards and jacket. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with light foxing. Binding has remained firm. Boards are a little rub worn, slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped. Spine ends are mildly crushed. Light wear to unclipped dust jacket with tears, nicks and creases to spine, edge and corners. Light tanning to spine and edges.

Sampson Low, Marston and Co, 1950. 32 pages illustrated in colour from one of the earliest Toby Twirl Adventures. In great condition, we'd be asking £20 and more but many of the pages were badly doodled on by a very young hand. The text is illustrated with copious coloured drawings by E. Jeffrey. 1/4 blue coloured cloth back strip. 3/4 coloured illustrated boards with yellow, black and green coloured titles. The adventures of Toby Twirl – a young pig who has human hands and walks like a human. Included are some puzzles and a crossword – which has been filled in neatly in pencil. The book is certainly showing age and use – please see photograph. Heavy rubbing and fraying of the back strip edges with bumping of the book corners. The underlying board is visible to the lower book edges, book corners and along the front edges with a few spots to the top book edge. Heavy rubbing and scoring of the front panel. This book belongs to... filled in with added ownership inscriptions, title page thumbed, crossword partially filled in with pencil. One page has had the lower margin and a bit of the outside margin torn off with slight loss to text. Edges of boards rubbed, covers soiled. Occasional foxing otherwise a sound copy.
