With 14 (of 15) folded engraved maps and plans, 29 (34) engraved plates, some folding. A few scattered brownspots. printed on good paper "A capital Compendium. Contains well-digested narratives of the voyages and discoveries of Columbus, Ulloa, Dampier, Kolben, Rogers, Drake, Pocock, Nieuhof, etc." (Sabin, 38163).

"...containing whatever is worthy of notice, in Europe, Asia, Africa and America... their climates, soil, produce &c.: with the manners and customs of the several inhabitants; their government, religion, arts, sciences, manufactures, and commerce... including the descriptions and remarks of some late celebrated travellers, not to be found in any other collection." Maps by cartographer Thomas Kitchin, about whom Wikipedia says, "He produced 170 maps for London Magazine (174783)... Kitchin frequently stole the works of other cartographers, which is one reason why he "created" so much work as a cartographer."
