No wear to covers or spine but top edge to 1cm and spine are moderately sunned. Standard university library markings though condition suggests the book saw limited circulation. No DJ. The Clark Lectures, 1963: Spenser and Bunyan; The Romantics; The Victorians; The Contemporary World: Poetry and Drama; The Contemporary World: Prose Narrative. Louis MacNeice delivered these Clark Lectures in the spring of 1963, a few months before his death. They are printed here with no more than the necessary minimum editorial revision. A short bibliography has been added.

The book is composed of lectures delivered by MacNeice, lightly edited, and published here soon after his death. A bright, fresh copy, with the dust jacket now preserved in a clear, removable archival protector.
