Descripción:
Inscribed on half title page: For Vic Moss With best wishes, Harry McPherson June, 1972Clean text. Price unclipped ($10.95). Protected by Brodart dust jack cover. Book in near fine condition and dust jacket in very good plus condition with a few small chips at top and bottom of jacket due to shelf wear. From Jack Valenti's book, "A Very Human President"Harry McPherson was special counsel to the president. The most literate and culturally civilized of the Johnson aides, Harry should have been a working poet, which he once inspired to be, though from the president's viewpoint it was a happy chain of events that led him to his side and not to the university cloisters....His memos to the president were models of lucid thoughts elegantly paragraphed, bound together with sweet rhythms....The president had affection for Harry, sometimes ribbing him, and poking a conversational finger in his chest by suggesting Harry was "in bed with all those bomb-throwing, ass-kissing, fuzzy headed Georgetown liberals."
