Pages remain clear with minimal tanning and foxing, mild to end-papers and text-block edges. Cracking to hinges, no damage to end papers. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with slight rubbing to surfaces. Mild crushing to spine ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped jacket has light edge-wear with tears and creasing. Moderate tanning to spine.

In a near very good dustwrapper which has very minor chipping and closed edge tears. The wrapper is now protected in a clear, removable sleeve. No ownership inscription or other internal marking. Pp.viii,208 + 8 page publisher's catalogue dated 7/29. Includes a number of the author's Introductions to books and reviews together with essays on a variety of subjects such as spiritualism, children's books and golf. The final essay "gives some intimate details about Christopher Robin, the hero of "When We Were very Young" and "Winnie-the-Pooh", which no lover of those famous nursery classics should miss.

Essays and introductions to various books: a note on E.H. Shepard; another on children's books; discussion around King's Breakfast 'Cow'; reviews, e.g. The Collected Stories of Conan Doyle. In the last chapter he gives some intimate details about Christopher Robin. Small neat inscription on front endpaper, top edges slightly dusty. Near Fine in VG+ DUSTWRAPPER (dw: price clipped, slightly tanned on spine, lettering bright, slight rubbing to head and tail of spine, tiny split at top and bottom of upper fold). This second issue is a little shorter than the first issue and has WHITE lettering (not gilt) to the spine and no lettering to upper cover, plus all edges are trimmed. Colorful hardcover with yellow cloth spine, tan woodgrain pattern dustjacket lettered in black. The book has modest edge rubbing, good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has splits held together by the mylar dover, chipping along spine that interfere with the spine lettering, not all that much paper loss overall.. First Edition.
